Vinyl flooring is an extremely popular commercial flooring option. It is composed of coloured vinyl chips which are formed into solid sheets of varying thickness under conditions of pressure and heat. These are either cut into vinyl tiles (including planks), or kept as large sheet rolls. Vinyl flooring provides a hygienic and stable environment as well as reducing noise and providing comfort underfoot. Unlike hard surfaces such as wood, laminate, terrazzo or ceramic tile, vinyl floors have an element of flexibility and thus, are referred to as “resilient” flooring.

Acoustic vinyl flooring, which has a cushion backing, provides reduction of impact & injury. Additional installation techniques help further reduce the risk of contamination and provide enhanced ease of maintenance; welded joints, coved skirting or wall vinyl installation are examples of these further measures. It is durable and time-tested, maintains its beauty under heavy foot traffic and use. It is moisture and stain resistant, so most spills can be easily removed and when compared with alternative materials, vinyl offers an attractive installed cost with economical maintenance over the life of the floor. All maintenance instructions can be made available upon request. Vinyl can be installed with pattern inlays to meet your room design and enhances the aesthetic features, while often mimicking the look of other hard surfaces. Vinyl can also be coved in areas such as toilet & kitchen areas to further improve hygiene and meet council regulations.
Vinyl is warmer than ceramic tiles, more durable and the colour and original appearance will last longer with routine maintenance. There are many flooring types that are suitable and designed specifically for the commercial sector. Commercial Flooring Solutions are the commercial specialists for resilient wall and floor sheeting, wet area floor and wall resilient sheeting, rubber sheet and tiles, vinyl composite tiles, luxury vinyl tile and planks, loose lay installations and modular carpet.
Homogeneous and heterogeneous resilient sheet may be installed to floor and wall areas, and is commonly known as sheet Vinyl. Commercial Flooring Solutions specialise in the installation of resilient wall and floor sheeting as per AS 1884-2012.
Welded resilient floor coverings as defined in AS 3740 are classified as water resistant not waterproof. In wet areas where there is a floor waste or in other areas where waterproofing is required as identified in AS 3740 and cross-referenced with the Building Code of Australia (BCA), a waterproof membrane complying with AS/NZS 4858 shall be installed. The installed membrane shall be a Class 3 waterproofing membrane compatible with cementitious fairing underlayments and preferably composed of cement and acrylic constituents. Commercial Flooring Solutions install adhesive, seam welding and coving as per the Australian Standards.
Fitting resilient wall sheet to showers and wet areas requires some planning to minimize joins in areas subjected to running water. Sheets may be fitted using a vertical or horizontal installation system. It is better to avoid welded wall joins in a shower cubicle if possible. Where that option is not possible, the welded join method may be used, however the overlap method produces a superior result. Encore Floors install adhesive, the overlap method and seam welding as per the Australian Standards.
Designed for heavy traffic areas where durability, resistance and underfoot comfort are required. Commercial Flooring Solutions has extensive experience in this area from conditioning, correct adhesive methods, tile set out, sheet set out, installation, butt seaming or welding, and completion protection, by means of diminishing strips or other suitable mouldings.
Anti-static vinyl flooring is specially developed with the purpose to meet the simultaneous demand for discharge capability and electrical insulation to the ground. It is ideal for places prone to electric static discharge such as hospitals, computer rooms, laboratories, manufacturing units etc.
A proprietary manufacturing process completely seals in the conductive carbon medium, resulting in a unique tile that can be easily cleaned and shined to a gloss while maintaining its electrical properties. A static-dissipative floor inherently meets the electrical properties of “static-dissipative flooring” without the use of anti-static waxes, finishes, and glazes. A static-dissipative tile is not necessarily anti-static and should be carefully evaluated in applications where special controlled footwear will not be used.
A specialised installation application, and is popular in kitchens, food serveries, hospitality, health care, education, retail, light industrial, office and amenities. Commercial Flooring Solutions is also excited with recent advancements in anti-slip vinyl, and can recommend products for the continuance from anti-slip, to traditional resilient sheet vinyl.
Artificial matting is becoming increasing popular in commercial applications including, beverage dispensary areas, schools, fitness studios, hotels, resorts, restaurants and even domestic applications. Artificial matting is a super hardwearing surface designed for both internal and external applications as the cut pile is sewn into a non-woven backing to keep the strands intact. The backing features small drainage holes to allow for liquids to pass through and will not form sweating on some surfaces like other options.
The water resistant nature of rubber, combined with its cushioning properties, make it the ideal flooring solution for hospitals, sporting facilities, schools and public buildings. Durable and easy to clean, rubber flooring is also recyclable, making it an environmentally responsible choice.
VCT is distinguished by the fact that its primary raw ingredient is limestone, a naturally abundant material. This is referred to as a “filler” material. VCT is most commonly used in high-traffic commercial applications and public spaces, such as retail stores and schools. It is known for being highly durable and easy to maintain. Commercial Flooring Solutions has the experience to ensure the correct adhesive is used, all the way through to set out, installation and completion protection.
LVT flooring is vinyl in planks, offering 3D printing technology which adds depth and realism, durability, with a high performance wear layer to a vinyl tile product. Commercial Flooring Solutions has extensive experience in this area from conditioning, correct adhesive methods, tile set out, installation and completion.
Loose lay installation is a method of installation with a minimal use of adhesive and for a product specifically designed for this procedure. Commercial Flooring Solutions has extensive experience in this area from conditioning, correct adhesive methods, plank and tile set out, installation and completion.
Also known as carpet tiles. Textile floor covering manufactured in small modules, usually square, designed to be installed by laying side by side without the use of any seaming method. Modular carpet is produced by inserting tufts into a PVC or bitumen compound which has been coated onto a backing fabric. This method ensures the tile remain flat and stable once installed. The modules are designed to be used without a separate soft underlay and to be laid loose on the surface or with adhesive over all or part of the area.
There are also many advantages in using carpet tiles over broadloom carpet in office & mat areas. They provide durability, cost effectiveness, less wastage and the ability to design with different styles & colours. They also provide the ability to pull out any soiled/damaged areas of flooring and replace yourself or have one of our qualified tradesman help you out. Commercial Flooring Solutions has extensive experience in all facets of Modular Carpet Installations from planning and general layout, pile lay, pattern matching and finishing in accordance with AS/NZS 2455.1:2007.
